As I sit here and try to write some of the events of this week, Lia is SCREAMING at me because I am laughing at her, which makes her scream louder and me laugh harder which makes her scream louder... its a never ending cycle.
Any way, so it all started Monday. I had to go to the dentist and have a broken filling fixed. I dropped Lia off at Brinkley's house and I took Sophie with me. As I was attempting to pull in the driveway at the dentists' office some jerk decides he wants to run me off the road. Me being somewhat stubborn but not wanting to wreck my car decided to turn into the parking lot a little faster than I should have. Let me tell you, it sounded like a trainwreck/ driveby and any other sound you don't want to hear! And all I could think is "CRAP! My cute car!" My car is totally leaning down in the front so I can only imagine what happened. I managed to squeak the 15 feet down to my spot, sat there for a few minutes because I didn't want to see what the damage was because I picturing how that conversation to Billy would go, " Hi honey, don't get mad, but...." so I get out walk around and my tire is a mangled mess! I just walked away, I was fearing the worst! It looked like I might have bent the rim, I was worried I broke the axle... all that stuff. So I figure I'll just go get my tooth drilled then deal with it. (oh, I did call my mom to come get Sophie) So they take me back, I get Sophie all settled where she can see me, and the Dr. and his staff go to work. The good news started, instead of using a drill and having to get a shot, they used a laser! Nice. It starts out not hurting one bit. Then a few minutes later its getting worse and worse. But I really don't want a shot, I've had two babies I can handle this pain. Then it gets more intense, do I tell the dentist, no I can handle it.... now its really intense I can feel tears forming, THEN... FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAART! Sophie rips the biggest fart you've ever heard, so loud the Dr. has to sit back and laugh for a few minutes. Ahh, relief for the two of us!
AAA came, changed the tire, nothing was broken, my cute car is still cute and I have a funny story to tell. Someday maybe I'll tell you about the 5 hour wait for the one stupid tire.

The best email ever!!! Thanks Mauri!
Finally...A Guide for Men
Nine words women use...
1.) Fine : This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
2.) Five Minutes : If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
3.) Nothing : This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
4.) Go Ahead : This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
5.) Loud Sigh : This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)
6.) That's Okay : This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
7.) Thanks : A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you're welcome.
8.) Whatever : Is a women's way of saying......... Up Yours!
9.) Don't worry about it, I got it : Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to #3. Send this to the men you know, to warn them about arguments they can avoid if they remember the terminology. Send this to all the women you know to give them a good laugh. Cause they know it's true.

What not...
Since I have the attention span of a six month old and am in desperate need of the energy of the 2 year old I am chasing, this is going to be one heck of a random post. These are some pics off of one of my cameras, I need to find the cables to my other ones... So be ready for more randomness.
And I can't figure out what is happening with my pictures, my journaling is all over the place. Oh well, so am I.
Lia go Bragh! How cute is this little hat? I got it for her after she was so good at the Dr.'s, see post "D Day."

She is growing up so fast, she doesn't want any help at the playground and we're in the beginning stages of potty training. She is so skinny her training pants fall off!
And finally, here is her new bed! About a year ago she jumped out of her crib and knocked the wind out of herself so I made Billy choose that day what he wanted to do. I had picked out a bed from Pottery Barn that I loved, but could never afford so we thought about building it. Life just got to busy so Lia was sleeping on boring old mattresses . We got that organza canopy to make it not look so boring until we had another solution.
And here it is, a very sweet day bed with a trundle. I LOVE IT!! So does Lia and Billy. Last night after reading, singing and prayers were done he came in and told me how nice it was to have it. I also put up the valance, by myself, straight even.... Their room is finally starting to come together. We just have one more project in there.... the dreaded closet. I'll save that for another day.

Lil' Miss August, in February and almost outgrown the outfit!

Here are pictures from that infamous 11 hour Wii marathon Billy, Elise and I had...
Billy is all monochromatic, even with our walls!

Happy Birthday pretty lady!
Valerie turned the big.... I'll let her tell you! And Lia and I got to celebrate it with her at Disneyland!
(Here's a cute little tid bit of information, it was also her husbands birthday too! How cool would that be, you'd never forget)

There was a hearse convention going on, I followed them in... that was by far the weirdest thing I'd ever seen... hearses pulling into D-land... whatever floats your boat.
Here are the girls going for Mardi gras beads.... naughty naughty.... just kidding kids, it was D-land!
We had a great time, I was just sad we were only there for three hours because I had to be back by 4!

It's D-Day
As in Dr. Day. Lia had her 2 year old appointment and Sophie had her 6 month well baby appointment.
Lia is 36 inches tall and 30.6 lbs, yes very tall and skinny! She also got a shot. I layed her on the table and held her arms like I was going to tickle her. I could tell when she got the shot because she had a look on her face like "what the h@# was that?!!" So I sat her up really fast and said "SURPRISE, A STICKER" and pointed at the band-aid. She got all excited and the nurse and I laughed like crazy.
My little Sophie is not so little anymore, she is 27 inches and 17.6 pounds. She got 3 shots and I am not excited about tonight. Last time she had a fever that spiked at 103.2.
Other than that we are all doing great. We have had Billy for 2 3-day weekends in a row! We had a really fun date on friday night. In typical Katie style I wanted to eat at Panera again, I don't know what they put in their food but its the best! And I picked the movie too. We saw 27 Dresses, I really liked it. Which leads me to our movie reviews, those are Billy's opinion ONLY! Just remember he's weird.
Then on Saturday he fixed our fence and my neice and I played Guitar Hero for 11 hours!!! We all took turns, but yes indeed 11 hours!
Lia also has a new bed I have to figure out how we're going to get it to our house from Redlands.
Valentine's Day came and went. I have a husband who thinks its a very stupid holiday, and I get it and understand why. Seriously, I don't hold it against him. I still celebrate it though. I took flowers to our families on Wednesday. Then that night I heart attacked our kitchen and left cards for everyone and teddy bears and twistable crayons (THANK YOU VALERIE!!) for the girls. I also made a nice dinner. Billy surprised us all with monkeys, how appropriate and a card for me. It was a "Happy Birthday Grandpa" card.... the store was out of Valentine cards. He cracks me up!

I am a hero

A few days ago I achieved what could be considered my greatest accomplishment of my life. Greater than my Master's Degree, greater than anything I have achieved professionally. Yes ladies and gentlemen, I beat Guitar Hero III, making me, in essence, a hero. Do not worry, I will not let the fame get to my head. I will continue to help out those less fortunate than I. I will continue to be the same ol' Joe you have grown to love (or hate).

THANK YOU!
For the last week and a half I have been really sick! When one thing was on its way out a new problem started. My Dr told me I had a "fluke" thing happen too. A fluke! (I really don't want to write all of the details, but if curiosity is killing you, just ask me) It has not been fun for any of us. I think its always harder on the mom. I hated feeling like I was being lazy and not taking care of my family or home. I had to break down and ask for help even! That never happens. My mom and sister are smart and know I only ask once, so if I ask they know I mean business.
Lucky for me/us I have the worlds best mom and sister who always made sure that my family was fed, Billy had stuff for lunches and my house was picked up! We could not have made it through the last week with out them! And I don't think I let them know, enough. I am always gracious and tell people thank you, I just hope I do it enough.

2
Lia turned 2 yesterday. My heart is full as I sit here and try to even think about what to write. So far it has been:
2 years of love like I could have never imagined.
2 years of laughter like I could have never imagined.
2 years of learning about myself.
2 years of nurturing.
2 years of re-learning nursery rhymes.
2 years of not caring what funny faces I make in public as long as I get a laugh in response.
2 years of grattitude for the family we are.
2 years of grattitude for the extended family and friends we share.
2 years of preparation for being the BEST big sister ever!
2 years waiting for teeth!
I just love this girl and thank Heavenly Father everyday that she is mine/ours!!!

Wii would like to play.
random trip pics...
Nernie taught Lia how to play checkers.
This one is just funny, she was laughing but she looks terrified!
Playing with Granpa Kirk. They were playing a game of where did the birdie go? And they would put their hand up to their lips and say "hmmmmmm, where's the birdie?" This went on for a VERY long time, he was so good with her.

And of course our wonderful Sophie!

Doin' the jig!
Here is the band.
Of course Lia stole the show dancing for everyone...
Here's is Tulley showing Terry how to dance, after I took this picture she kicked off her shoes, hiked her skirt up (a little) and went for it.

Gerry had an Irish "jam band" come and play at the reception. It was ABSOUTLEY INCREDIBLE! He plays the madolin in it, but its just a group of people who meet a couple of times a month to play. If you're having a hard time picturing what it sounded like, think about Titanic and the scene where Jack takes Rose the party in steerage.... Thats exactly what it sounded like!
It was a great party!
Wedding
My mom, sister, myself, Lia And Sophie packed up and headed out to Mesa Arizona last week for my Uncles wedding. We had a fun time traveling out there even though we were smooshed into a Camry. I swear I have the best girls ever! Lia only had one little tantrum. So we stopped at a Carls Jr. in Blythe and let her play in the playland for an hour and then it was smooth sailing from there on out.
Gerry and Guin were married on February 1st in a VERY sweet ceremony.
They released doves when they came out of the church, of course Lia went NUTS!
She's saying "OH Grandpa look at the birds" (We stayed with some relatives Kirk and Gayle and she was calling him Grandpa after about 2 minutes, she is very much in love with him)
"Bye bye birdies"
