Sophie is offically 3!

We partied for 3 days straight! Sunday we got together with a bunch of my family to celebrate all of the August birthdays and also because Grandparents had to work on Sophie's birthday and I had her party during the day and I wanted them to have a chance to celebrate her... she was celebrated let me tell you! She was totally spoiled with tons of toys, including helicopters and a powerwheel quad! (I'm totally jealous, I always wanted a power wheel growing up and I've always wanted a quad and my 3 year old beat me to it!)
Monday night I worked around the house getting it ready for her party on Tuesday, but we continued with a tradition we we started a few years ago, Billy goes to the store and picks out a cake. And we have a quiet little celebration with just us. It is a fun tradition.

Her big present from us. I was thinking that Sophie would love a beta bowl fish tank. So I went around looking at Target, Wal Mart and Petsmart. I found one I loved at Petsmart and since the girls were on their sleepover at Grandma's I thought it was the perfect time to show Billy. Billy is funny. He thought it would be stupid and boring to only get one fish. So our beta bowl ended up being a 10 gallon tank we set up that night and covered it with a box for 4 days. Then on Monday I bought a few for fish for it and drew a bow on the box and we were set!

Tuesday started out so fun! I always decorate the house once the kids are asleep, so when Sophie came in my room she was giggling and excited! (It's a great way to start out the day) then we went to show her her present.

As we pulled the box off, she totally gasped! Speechless!!!!! and said "Fish, oh my goodness, fish! my fish!"

Then we opened a few more presents.

Got dressed in appropriate birthday girl attire and Billy took her to the pet store to buy a few more fish. (Whenever we're at wal mart we have to stop and look at the fish for a few minutes. Billy kept asking her which were her favorites and she would show him. Then when he went to look for someone to get the fish she wanted, I guess Sophie went crazy with excitement... I guess she never knew they were for sale)
Then it was time to party! Ellibean came. (escorted by her parents)

Katie and Nathan.

Melissa and the Tang family.

Sophie loved her cupcakes!

Matt, Melissa and Elliot stayed after that party and we had pizza for dinner, then put the slide back up and had a fun night as a family.

Thanks to all her friends (and their mommy's) who came to her party and all of the family and friends who called to wish our girl a happy birthday. It was a special day for a very special girl!!!!

(SIDE NOTE~ Tommy had his check up, he's 25.5 lbs and 31 inches. putting him in the 95percentile for weight and off the charts in height. Sophie is 26 lbs. He's a tank and she's a string bean)
